How long does it take to get a metal building installed?

A proper building takes time to get right. In most cases, you can expect a project to last a few days to a few weeks, with lead times between order and installation being 4-8 weeks. The entire process looks like the following: First up, we will nail down the final design and get you a solid quote. That usually wraps up in less than a week. If you use our online configurator, you can speed this part up yourself. Next, the real waiting begins. Our engineers have to draw up custom plans specific to your piece of land and your local weather loads. Then, we send those plans to your county for a permit. This permit stage is the wild card. Some counties turn it around in a couple of weeks; others can sit on it for over a month. There’s no way around it, and we can’t rush them. While that’s happening, your building goes into the production queue at our factory. Every beam, panel, and bolt is custom-fabricated for your job. This process alone typically takes four to eight weeks. You shouldn’t just wait during this time. This is when you need to get your site ready. You or a contractor needs to grade the land and pour the concrete slab. That slab isn’t ready for us the next day-it needs a solid week or two to cure properly and reach full strength. Finally, once the permit is in hand, the building is on the truck, and your foundation is cured, our crew comes out. The actual installation is the fast part. The process takes 8 – 16 weeks . The delay is never the installation; it’s always the paperwork and the precision manufacturing beforehand. We don’t cut corners, and that takes time.
